The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, however, doesn’t seem to be slowing down with the new bits of news coming out prior to its launch next month, though the part about “major” news still stands. We’ve already read about how fast the game can be finished, planned expansions, and even seen the opening moments.
What hasn’t been touched on as much, however, are the characters and the people voicing them. In a game as large as The Witcher 3, which puts a heavy emphasis on the world, as well as its story, many voice actors are needed to give life to the people Geralt will interact with - from the commoner to the powerful rulers. Today, developer CD Projekt RED released a new video that introduces Emhyr var Emreis, Emperor of Nilfgaard, and the man behind the man, Charles Dance. Game of Thrones fans will better recognize him as Tywin Lannister.

Geralt’s last adventure will mark the first time Dance has performed in a video game, which actually comes as a surprise. How did an actor of his caliber go unused in other fantasy games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, or even the previous Witcher games? He’d be perfect.
Regardless, Dance can now add “Voice Actor” to his résumé, along with the fact that he did so voicing one of the more powerful men in the Witcher series:
Judging by the above video, do you think it’ll be hard to hear anyone other that Tywin when you encounter Emhyr var Emreis? Or will you be able to separate the two?
“It’s a whole new world for me. It’s quite exciting, actually.”
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, after going gold last week, will finally launch on May 19, 2015 for PC, PS4, and the Xbox One.
